Hammers within the Headwinds

In Ezra, God’s people faced discouragement, opposition, and seemingly insurmountable obstacles while rebuilding the temple after exile. Yet even amid fear, division, and setbacks, God calls us to keep swinging our hammers in the headwinds—continuing the work of faith, hope, and God’s kingdom. Drawing on church history, Scripture, and the example of those who persevered, we are invited to imagine how the work of God continues forward in every generation as we learn from and take inspiration from the archives of our past and put our trust in a God whose purposes cannot be stopped.
